Proteins
Learning Target: Student will be able to describe the monomers and polymers of proteins and their function.
In later chapters you will learn the Nucleic Acids make DNA, DNA makes RNA, RNA make Amino Acids, and Amino Acids make up Proteins. Protein control many different functions. The proteins pictured above are responsible for the ability of lizards and frogs to climb up flat objects. This protein makes up the "sticky stuff" on their feet. Proteins are also responsible for making your heart beat and allowing you to think. Each of your cells are producing proteins RIGHT NOW!
